Goood morning crew. Woke to a 1/2" dusting of snow from overnight, and the temps dropped to +15f currently. I'll see +18f or +5f depending on the time of day and where I'm at. Likely double digits below zero tonight.

Good evening folks. Almost time to take a couple of hrs of needed rest. The wood stove is a god send. With a OK bed built from feeding for a few hours it a nice comfortable 76f. I'm sure that will dip a bit if it doesn't get fed in the overnite(unless I turn up the GFA) as it's already -12f.

The ice is really doing some serious talking this evening.

Good morning folks. Nap times over, and the nectar of the gods is tasting mighty great this morning.

Outside cooled off a bit to -14f,, that's a somewhat expected seasonal temp for where I'm at. Claims to rise all the way to +1f this afternoon.

The room with the woodstove overnight cooled all the way to 71f, with a good bed of coals glowing rather happily. It made for the easiest overnite restoke that I can remember in quite some time. I luv my Quadrafire steptop.

Got into the single digits here last night, with wind chills 0* they claim. Tonight & tomorrow morning is supposed to be more of the same.

Loaded up the stove with a bunch of 40y/o Osage about 9:30 last night, currently the stove room is still 80*. There are still plenty of coals to refire with the Mulberry for the day.

Saturday December 19th?
That duck is barking…

That auction was listed in a weekly flyer my folks get. It is one of the furthest auctions I have seen listed in that particular flyer.

There must be something of value there, I see “Machinery Pete “ is going to be there.

The 850 dozer & 4755 peaked our interest.

Quite a selection of stuff listed there.

The new nectar brewing machine showed up today.

Thinking this will alleviate the burnt coffee issues that seem to be occurring recently here.

I waited for the post turkey day sales to buy mine & saved a substantial amount.

This is the model I bought

So far so good, it takes about 5 minutes to brew a 40oz carafe. I really like the auto off & no hot plate set up.

For the price they want it seems to have a lot of pieces & plastic but I guess the removable parts make it easier to clean. A high percentage of the reviews gave it top marks. It was American’s Test Kitchen winner as well.

I went ahead & bought a reusable filter for it also. You get a few fines with the reusable vs the paper & maybe a bit more flavor with the reusable but nothing substantial.

The stainless arm on top is removable as well.

I will report on it again in a few months.

I can report that the Bone Frog Goat Locker Blend is pretty damn bold in smell & taste, it’s an eye opener just from the smell & taste.
