Pretty sure it is a bass that isn't very talkative. Called a smallmouth.

Agree with @WoodAbuser on the smallmouth. We catch a few in the creeks from time to time.

Had a friend come out this afternoon and we went to my far pond to catch some perch to see what size we could get for catfishing. I didn't stock the crappie or shiners in it. Had to come in by birds. Other pond has goldfish. Looks like some good bait size ones now.

The dogs are doing their part to help with the raccoon population.

These are #’s 9 &10 in about 2 weeks.

The beagle is quite the coon hound, he usually sniffs them out & the Lab does most of the heavy lifting but Pudgy will get in the mix.

I usually try to give an assist if I can.

Last week I was just getting ready to wade in to clump of stuff to check out the situation & out barreled a coon, he bit the muzzle of my 22, that party ended pretty quickly.

Now if you want to go skunk hunting Jetta is your dog. She finds them on a regular basis

Locally "Baxter's" has great 1"+ thick pork steak or slabs. Smoked 4 hours at the heat they prefer . Their Chicken isn't bad, but I find Chicken ez. Slo cooked thick pork steaks mmmm!
