The boys and I took down a 36" dead red oak for a neighbor this afternoon...way too close to his house...IMG_20230925_160139.jpg

That's a 24" bar on the 400.

My holding wood didn't hold very well....

But it's done, and I didn't smash anything..

Good morning folks, I'm up a bit early, 59 to 68 today.
We may finally see some sunshine today after 2 1/2 days of rains. At least 7.3" at the homestead, with most being lighter downfalls that seem to have soaked in fairly well.

That don't sound good....
It sounds about like a shotgun blast when they blow up. This is the 2nd one I have busted. The good news is that they have evidently gone down in price. The last one was almost $700, that was about 2 years ago. This one was about $400.

I was shaking a cedar to knock the soil out of the rootball & rock about the size of a baseball ended up between my feet.

400 is better than 700 but still expensive entertainment.... probably you should quit it....

Buy the palletmay bring down retail costs also
A little, but speaks more to just how common it is to break the front glass out of a skid steer that has every task happening "right in your lap"..

That's why I'll probably sell it and get an articulating loader..

That's a gripe I have with skidsteers....not much of a space cushion.
When working with brush and trees, stuff happens.....and I like to be a little further away from the action.

Ya know there are companies that make bullet proof glass "polycarbonate" inserts for most skid loader doors.
