With the price of farm ground in IA I'm surprised they can make the math work for solar. Wind farms made some sense. Don't take much space for the output.
I would rather see 20 five acre solar farms than one wind turbine.

They are giving ridiculous lease rates on solar & wind, they are pretty good about doling out that endless supply of “free” guberment money they get…

How are feeling after the surgery ? Have they got you trying solid foods yet ?
Thanks for asking. Solid foods lunch day after surgery. Am eating much more green beans, cauliflower ,spergus sweet taters and so on. Have all the complaints about pain as dead folks do. lol That's part of trouble with colon cancer, no feeling of pain in that tube, so it sneaks up. 12" section out, 1" on each end clear of cancer so prolly good. Visit on Thursday with surgery team for something

I’m ready for fall and it’s not even June yet. 85 with 65% humidity equals 91 here

Had to stand on the broken stick and use the 42” bar to release one of the main beams.
Used the pallet forks on the bobcat to hold it up whilst I cut it.

That sounds really unpleasant. It's 63% humidity here at the moment, but only 67 degrees. We've had a couple few 80 degree days, but we're only topping out in the 70's and our overnights are still hitting low 50s.

Did a little upgrading today. 21 ram 2500 tradesman with the power wagon package. 6.4 hemi 8spd trans locking diffs front and rear disconnecting sway bar and 12k winch. So far a great improvement over my other truck. I hope I like going back to a gas burner from my Cummins.

Did you trade in the cummins?

I'm really out of the loop on new vehicles. Are 8 speed transmissions fairly common? I remember when 6 speed was considered a lot of gears. Looks nice regardless!

Nice rig buddy!
Diesel is great when you need gobs of power, but I prefer gas most of the time.
I just got my Duramax back on the road the other day, it's pretty obnoxious after driving a 1500 with a 5.3 for two years.

8 gears sounds kinda cool.....

I have not heard anything on it
There is big arguments about wind turbines right now
I’ll have to check up on that 🤔
The same with turdbines here. The safety distance for workers from a tower during storms is 3250’ but the setback from a neighbors property line for a built tower is 2500’.

I was contacted earlier this year wanting my land for a solar farm and I told them to stick it. They got to the point of calling my parents even 3 or 4 times a day when I wouldn't answer their phone calls when I was working. I sent them an e-mail telling them to not contact any of us again. Supposed to be some veteran backed company, but it seemed to be more of a taxpayer funded lavish lifestyle for the company heads. Put them in the towns on top of the buildings that use the most electricity anyway.
