That looks pretty slick. I have an older Lansky setup that is the same concept, but this looks a bit more robust.

Is the black frame part plastic, or aluminum, or what material is that?
It's some kind of plastic.
We've been using it for 5 years with no problems....so far.
Yes, it's pretty much a glorified lansky idea.
My cousin had a lansky.... his knives weren't amazingly sharp....but could have been the operator....

Tax man sent me a new letter this week. Property value went Up 45% in one jump. No new buildings just land value. Said I wouldn't be paying for new 5 lane road. I am now. Now neighbor is listing their property for sale. $2.25 M (20 acres). They are hoping for commercial.
If I understand correctly, the state was using evaluations from 2008 & then suddenly jumped to evaluations from 2020.

Our county got an additional $12 million this year & the supervisors can’t wait to spend it. They are also trying to up our levy so they can get more money, the dumb bastiches should be lowering the levy.

I was right in the middle of this post when we died......

Tore into the Dolmar 510 today (yesterday now).

It's not not very deep on the piston, and what's in the cylinder is not feel-able to my fingers.

I know I’ve run a lot worse scored pistons on some stuff I’ve had with no apparent problems. But I think on this saw I’d get new rings (Caber) and a piston and clean up the cylinder with a ball hone. I don’t know if Husqvarna uses nickasil coated cylinders or not. If they do use muratic acid to remove any transfer on the cylinder.
What do y'all think?

Happy Easter guys!

Okay, that's what I wanted to hear.....
I've got a good rasp here......and a chisel....

Think I should put a new ring in there?
It's running pretty strong as is.
If the ring is not damaged, no need to replace.

Bevel those ports and deliver enough fuel.

We were planning in planting some beans today but got rained out so it looks like Wednesday maybe.
We didn’t get any rain but these clay hills don’t dry out as soon as other soils
We can still make mud balls in the crop ground
Dad is going to try to harrow the pasture and hay fields where cows have been all winter to smooth out the tracks and spread the pies out
