Early are coarse thread, late are fine thread. Diameter is the same on all cranks .500”. The kit you need is this one 501831503, you reuse your original clutch. I just replaced a spur drum on my Jred with using this kit.

Measured the crankshaft, it is indeed .500"....so the problem is definitely Chinese incompetence.....
