It's not my fault dig safe missed marking so much crap.

My dad used to work for a fencing company.
They were building chain link fencing around an airport in Kennet, MO.
Dig rite mis-marked a water line, and they pounded a whole row of posts right through the water main.
They were not liable, because the markings were wrong.

When they bury non-conductive piping/utilities, they usually either bury a wire, or a metallic tape above the pipe. If someone is not paying attention and the trench is wide, then sometimes the conductive locator line does not get buried directly above where the actual utility is. It was an expensive mistake by someone...

Finally found a place that had 7mm-08.
$42/box. Used to buy them $27/box.
Bought 2 boxes. Also bought a BSA bore site to get the scope closer. Last time I went to the range I wasted a full box of shells only to get it close to the target. Hopefully this will get me on paper and finish with just 3 or 4 rounds.

I always sight in at 25 yards after hanging new glass..

You’ll be on paper and just math the clicks to dial it in 1/2” low at 25..
then make sure the last 2 holes are essentially one ragged hole so you know there’s not some other treacherous issue going on.

I usually step it out, 50 then 100. But I have some old school glass bore sights that get me on a large paper at 50.

My .308 Mauser was driving tacks at 100yrds in 8 shots.

Remove bolt, sight thru bore at the sign centered with the rifle resting on the lawn chair.

Adjust scope to look at the same place.

You will be within 3” at 100 yds.

Well..... I've never tried it around a school, or with a lawn chair.....but I use the method otherwise and usually get pretty good results.....saves lots of ammo.

It’s a fun old gun but I think I want something with a more moderne bolt. Maybe 270, 7mm or 30-06. Maybe all of them!
