Good morning to let the wood stove do it’s job..

Been having fires on and off for a week.. have not used a single stick of real firewood yet..

All trimmings from the wood mizer.. bet I’ll still be burning it come December.,

We have had similar temps this week as well.

I have been burning silver maple & ponderosa pine the last few nights.
Meanwhile the a/c is running in my wife’s room… I have long since quit banging my head on the wall about her opening the windows instead, it just gave me a headache & I was starting to put a dent in the wall.

Yup, been just waiting for it to get cold enough....
Got about a dozen to put in the freezer, so I am glad to be started.... I'm getting tired of feeding em all.
You gonna save a couple back to mix with venison?

Some of the best burger we’ve made was a 50/50 mix venison and pork shoulder/trimmings..

I'd like to, but I don't usually hunt....I'm too busy feeding pigs, and making sawdust.....
Now, if I could find somebody that wanted to do a pound for pound trade, I've got lots of trading stock here.....

I'm thinking about having some of my saws ported but I have to wait on 2 things money and summer

Many builders have more time in the winter to do porting than in the summer. When the nights grow long and there is less to do outside I start taking on more work I can do in the shop.

I would hate to be without one of my saws in the winter but I do understand that

AWOL. Alan Wolthius. He worked over my 562. Is an animal. Would run a 42” bar in red oak noodling with an 8pin. They are something to behold. There should be some vids on YouTube.

My only ported saw is a 359 that Alan did for me. It's fun to run, and fun to watch my friend's faces when they try it out!

There are only a few models I would say benefit greatly from porting as a work saw.

And the model will depend on who you send it to..

This is from someone who has a *s-word ton of ported saws..

There are things an individual can do without grinding on them to make a big difference in behavior and performance.. call them “hacks” if you will..
A 661c I bought ported kept up with a muff- molded performance air cleaner ms460. Discourage, even tho it came for $300 less than an out the door new. Then 11 or so tanks of mix later it matured and pulls like a Buffalo. Matt even commented on it, from hearing it when I was assisting on cutting a hedgerow into firewood.

Anybody around Neosho Mo. know anybody that can slab 5' diameter logs?
Maybe @Hedgerow
I've got a customer wanting a couple monster logs sawed into slabs, says the logs are in neosho.....
I ain't got the equipment for that kinda stuff, and it's too far to drive anyway.
