This look like $700.00 worth of concrete??

Between the price hikes and the “fuel surcharges “,
Might as well get a full 9 yards and have an over run dump spot.

I priced concrete about 9 months ago, and I realize in todays world, that might as well have been 20 years ago, but it was $120/yd delivered.

Set anything on fire??

Nope, but we keep a sharp eye out for it.

Why?

We only have 4 cows, and we're trying to cut down on how much they waste, when we put a whole bale in they drag it out and make a big mess.
With the price I'm paying for hay this year I gotta do what I can to stretch it as much as possible.
We're building a pole barn right now, planning to make a keyhole type hay feeder to mostly eliminate the waste.

What is hay going for down there ? It’s anywhere from $100 - $125 bale up here for actual hay. CRP hay is going for $65 - $90 bale. Most bales are 68” dia x 5’ w, depending on the forage & the type of baler , 1200# - 2000#.

Most folks around here just use hay rings or hay wagons.

I paid $65/ bale for these, they're sposta be 4'x5' and 850-900 pounds, last year it was $30-65 per bale for this same stuff.
This year I'm seeing $65-70 on rare occasion, then it goes all the way up to $100+ and there's really no good hay to be had here, all that stuff is usually trucked in from Kansas or Iowa.

Well fellas. Gonna try an employment change for a while at least. Going to work for myself again. We’ll see how it works out. Hoping it gives me more time to take care of stuff around the house and get some more saw time. Gonna be doing equipment work with the machinery I already have along with my welding and mechanic business. Should stay busy I expect.

Good luck Sir! Making more time for ourselves (or at least trying to) is never a bad thing.

I was buzzing off some CRP to roll up Monday & found this with the disc mower, fortunately it shot right thru & didn’t bend or break any blades. Some dip chit had been back in there cutting hedge & it rolled off their cart. :eusa_whistle:

I told Dad & my brother I would mow off their budding Silver Maple timber but I wasn’t baling it. o_O

Most of what we mowed was decent alfalfa, tree foil & orchard grass.
