Just thought I'd give an update on the ol Uhaul f650. It's governed to 75mph and will get 7.5mpg. Only needs 4 of the 6 gears to hit 75 too. Also the tow haul mode is pretty helpful for braking. Light braking no down shifting, heavy braking you'd think you were doing it manually.

When we moved here from western Oregon, we rented a 26' Penske truck rated at 26k, I talked my log trucker cousin into driving it for us.... the loaded truck towing our suburban on my tilt trailer we grossed at over 47k!
Decided not to weigh it till the last scale before our destination so we could plead ignorance.
Coming down out of the Rockies, I was sure we were going to end up in readers digest! but it all turned out fine, it was a totally uneventful trip just the way I like it.

Were you hauling stones in the truck? Lol.

I had to roll across scales entering South Dakota. They didn't give you a number only had a message board saying good or pull over.

I would like to check the weight for *s-words and giggles though.

62 degrees out..

Heavy dew...

The tomatoes and sweet corn patch are happy right now. Amazing what an inch of rain and 2 cloudy days can do for plant regeneration..

I think they’re ready for a week of sun and 90.

Yep, I love me some home raised pork! that stuff from town tastes like poop sometimes......

We raised them on corn and the extra milk from our cows, so plenty lard and very moist meat! The last one of these we processed was super delicious, they're just plain old bland Yorkshires which I think are usually pretty not so wonderful, but these are just great!
This one was probably around 300# maybe 350# live, so it made a pretty good sized pile of pork!

Morning Midlanders!

For the picture, not the article:

Those 155 powder canisters in the background are great for hauling a hot meal out to the boonies.

Fried chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans were simply kicked out of a Huey to deliver a hot meal.

Bombs away!

Well, warm anyway. [emoji58]
