The problem with the latest/newest offerings from Stihl is the aftermarket hasn’t geared up enuf to save cash on parts.

One can get upsides down quickly buying big chunks from your local dealer.

I have a MS311 now that needs a clutch cover but only source is some rancid used or new from Jack Horners.

They moved the side adjust hole 1/4” forward so your common, $13 cover from China won’t work.

Not this much over short time. In 2009 there was flash flood of 9 inches Inna day. 5 years ago there was a flash that peeked around 3 am from the guessers. 7 am there was still a foot of flo over the high spots on my property.
1st I'm aware of in 15 years to catch so many days of rain. There has been one day of actual sun in 10 or 12 days. One of those was just clouds, the rest had some rain IIRC

Holy smokes! 9 inches in a day! Yeah, we'd have washed away out here.

So I was watching a cooking show last night & the host & guest chef were singing the praises of grass fed beef.

As they prepared the steaks, they slathered the top side with olive oil (fat) slapped them on the grill to cook a bit, then flipped them over & slathered the 2nd side with more olive oil (more fat ).

When the steaks were done they put a big glob of compound butter on each one to melt (more fat ) & absorb in.

Wouldn’t it just be easier to let the animal put the fat on naturally while growing by adding some grain to its diet then sing the praises of a well marbled steak ?

How about you buy the Chinese cover and I put it in my mill and pull the hole forward?
Would that work?
Or the reinforcement on the backside in the way?

But saying grass fed sounds cooler and stuff.

10.5 inches here the last 24-36 hours. Don’t know how there can be any left for MO.

Mother nature must think grumpy is running low on ammo I reckon.

So how common is it that y'all get this much over this length of time? Is it a yearly thing, or less, or more?
My 87 year old neighbor says in SW mo you just expect odd things.. it’s always been this way. I’ve seen 10” of rainfall just east of here in less than 5 hours... we only got 6 or so just 12 miles west...
I’ve seen -19 degrees here and 112 degrees...

That’s why the old timers went to more grass and less crops.

The stack of flat washers was so we could test run the piston/cylinder kit.

Beautiful day in Mr. Rogers neighborhood!
