Whats it like around you guys, out here everybody's looking for help. Nobody even applies. Candyasses are happy just sitting i guess.

$11.15/ hour starting at several burger spots around Farmington MO. And the signs have been up more than a month. Fish place did have inside open til "shortage of help" closed those doors again.
Predictors say 100° actual and no telling "feels like" ! But being retired and having this
" hillbilly cool tub" it'll be all right. Work some cool down work some. See the pattern there

It’s hot here too, cleaning out grain bins this time of year sucks.

I was at the local NAPA the other day & the owner was talking to a fella that wanted a job but didn’t want to start until around 11:00 am because he didn’t do well in the mornings…

The local machine shop is always looking for help, the truck repair shop is needing help but the help he gets is usually pretty sketchy at best.

He had a new hire ask for a chair so they could work setting down.

They gone now.

It's getting pretty sad.

I like seeing the temps coming in wearing office attire, you can tell when they heard print shop they were thing of computer printers lol.

My first print job was Quick Print. Made us wear shirt & tie because we had to do counter & deliveries too. Tuck the tie between buttons when we were printing so we didn't die.

As plant engineers we always showed up ‘office dressed’.

We had a nasty thunderstorm dump a couple inches of rain on the Blacksnake watershed in a very short time.

The sewer inlet (twelve foot diameter) north end of town plugged up with brush. We got over thirty inches of water flowing thru the wire mill.

Boss said ‘wear your grubbies” as we were to help with clean up.

Showed up in jeans and sport shirt.

Was my normal dress until I retired. [emoji108]

Wire drawing machines almost all have the drive motors mounted on the floor.

About two hundred motors 5-50 hp to dry out and rebuild.

Cleaning up the yard for an appraisal and finally set my dump body on my truck. Get the rust patched and painted. Then maybe put my 12v Cummins and g56 trans in it. Should pull good then!

Just by eyeballing the rain gauge from the house looks like we have had about 2-1/2” of rain since about 10:00pm last night. It’s supposed to cool down nicely thru midweek. We have had air quality alerts since Thursday for the smoke coming in from Canada & out west, most of that is supposed to clear out today.
