Zero thoughts on the explained situation...Got one thats about got me stumped. Working on a 268xp husky. Put a 272 piston and cylinder on it. Went to start it, and wouldn't fire. Checked and no spark. Thouht id checked it before, but ok. Put a coil on it off of a parts saw, and still no spark! Ok, dug up a 3rd coil, no spark again! Checking it with the switch wire disconnected, and coil gapped the thickness of a business card. Any thoughts?
Had a Honda 5.5 washer motor yesterday, no pump on it ran great ,, pump on it full load , it would run 5 minutes then start popping and would die ..Solid state ignitions don’t make a good spark at cranking speed to begin with.
Try a well grounded (vice grips) new, dry plug with a narrow(ish) gap.
I’ve had to turn off the shop lights and close the overhead door on some. [emoji34]

Rarely see a bad plug but it was , the only thing I could tell was the plug smelled like bad old gas , like varnish, NGK as well .
New plug fixed

Something in gas , has to beSunday I was running a Kohler M18 engine that came back from the dead. All of sudden it just died. I thought "Nuts". Found no spark, changed the coil. Still no spark. Tried yet another coil. Still nothing. Grabbed another pair of spark plugs and installed them. It started. Never seen 2 plugs go bad at the same time.
