Good morning!
Came across this KA-BAR combat knife at an estate sale yesterday. Ran my Gatco stones over it and now you can shave with it. I had an interest in finding one some day.

Morning everybody.
Back when I used to turn a wrench for a living I remember working, under the hood, on pickup trucks and standing on the ground. Nowadays I've got to have a raised platform to stand on to do anything under the hood of my wife's truck and it's just an F150 truck. Plus, lay across the engine to get to anything back around the firewall.
Muscles are sure sore today.
Hellooooo Tylenol.
:)

I have several different types of combat knives mostly Gerber and Ka-Bar.
I carried the Gerber MK while in the Corps.

1-2 are of the BMF and it was too bulky to actually use in the field so I traded it a MKII Gerber in the next group.

3,4,5 Gerber MK II was what I used taped to the harness of my 782 gear.

6,7,8 are of a Vietnam era Gerber I got from Saigon Sam's near camp Geiger w/o a sheath. I was informed many yrs later to not have the tip reground because it was deliberately blunted to prevent it from getting stuck in bone (a knife enthusiast told me) also had a nice sheath made for it.

10,11,12 is my Ka-Bar USMC fighting knife later model.

13,14 is the USMC Ontario knife company bayonet.

My father’s and then mine had a somewhat slimmer handle.

Dad was USMC reserve. Served in South Pacific and then Korea. REMF

I left it with a member of my rifle platoon when I DEROS. Such a knife was near priceless in the bush. Build a pancho tent using bamboo in shot order. [emoji108]
