Looks like I’ll be burning a lot of cedar next year..

Wiped out the tree line north of the driveway last night. Just can’t bear to put stove sized sticks on the burn pile, so I spent 2 hours cutting all the branches out of the 8 cedar trees that had to go.

In that short little section, the cull trees were:

Thorny locust
Hackberry
Cedar
And one small oak

Lots of stove chow there, that Honey Locust burns great when it gets dried down. You could always mill that Cedar for some nice wall boards, a Cedar chest or jewelry box.

Meh. Trying to make ice on the windshield.

Cedar wall and ceiling..
Takes a decent sized log to make dimension lumber out of. Too much root flare in most.
