The .357 will work if you’re hunting in thick stuff where you don’t get more than a 70 yard shot..

.243 gives you more options.. lol
For even more options a contender frame with a selection of barrels matched to terrain differences IMHO

1.94 near 55 and 67. Coffee is good, 36 degrees out there

I paid 1.94 and 1.93 to fill up both vehicles in Lawrence the past couple days. Our fuel is normally higher than Topeka or KC, so I’m not biching about it.

Is that a 357 mag? My buddy Greg used to load his little Marlin lever out to the max in that chambering. Quite a bit of muzzle velocity, fun to shoot.

77 seems a big platform for that, maybe it’s a different round.

My tikka 270 is my favorite of all. Weighs a little over 5 lbs

Several qualified parts shipped in from the Milford Proving Grounds from a test Corvette and digging deep enough and taking measurements as you go until you see something not quite right. I sent a video as we took measurements of the shaft and the engineer said that it didn't look quite right. I asked for specs for the measurement and he said that they didn't exsist. It seems that we often are the pioneer in problem jobs. [emoji53]

Well, that is impressive. A bit more involved than the average shop procedure!

Prayers for him, known many like that

Thanks, Cobey. I don’t want to see him go the way of my mom, who was the personification of anathema maranatha if ever there was one. Bad business, that.
He’s not quite as hostile as she was, but those intellectual types can get stuck in the cognitive to the point the spirit starves out and they can’t see it. .

I had one in 7.30 Waters, but I liked the 45.70 best, it was a thump to shoot. A lot of fire, and slow enough to actually handle with one hand. But the Waters was a legit hi power round, I think I recall it was a 30.30 necked down to 7mm, but it's been decades ago.

I made it to Friday. Does that count.
Indeed it does.

Yesterday was a very dark anniversary for my wife, the reigning Queen of Anthropomania, so I got my stepdaughter to watch His Primacy, so I could escort Her Queenship to a fancy dinner at 6 Mile Chop House. My steak tended a bit toward medium, but I wasn't complaining, as the evening went off without a hitch, and Nancy's mood was excellent, which of course made the whole process worth the price of admission. I actually dressed up a bit, an activity normally restricted to people getting married or buried.

Have a good day, gentlemen.
