We've got a lady that travels daily for her job that got 485,000 miles on her Cruze before someone T-boned it. I'm not sure how many miles she's got on her new Cruze. She's in every two weeks for an oil and filter change.

We just sent the wife's previous Honda CRV to live in MO with 315,000 on it. Oil and filter every 12K, none added between changes, tires, heater fan motor, starter, and a couple of brake jobs. Plus, it got a set of plugs at 290K. Son in law drives it daily for work now.

Every Toyota or Honda we've had over the last 25 years has gone over 250K. Yeah, we drive too much. One of those wheel or mileage taxes would really put a crimp on this household!

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion I guess. mine vastly differs from yours. If you wanted a perfect truck you’d just put DT466 in it, Cummins are vastly overrated. IDI’s aren’t really a torque monster by any means but that truck with the turbo kit was considerably better than anything else produced in 93. I’d like to find a 96-03 7.3 regular cab to replace it.

What is special about the DT466? Is it an easy swap?

What is special about the DT466? Is it an easy swap?

Probably not an easy swap, but if ya got enough time, know how, and money, it would make a good power plant for a pickup. Or even a dump truck for that matter. 7.7 liter ish?
More cubes than a cummins. Still an inline 6 turbo diesel made by International.
