Barbara misplaced her glasses yesterday afternoon. Hunted thru the house and car four times. Finally went and got her tested and measured for new ones.

Wrote a check for near $300.

I happened to reach in the little cubby hole in the dash on the way home from the store.

Found 'em!!

Just wire in a block of oak.
Or a block of Hedge...

I'll have to check Dad's Z-71 for this. It's in pretty good shape for it's age a that it's a bit north of 205K on the clock. Put a new engine in awhile back because the old 350 was starting to use some oil and down a bit on power. Probably could have spruced it up ourselves, but 1K for a 350 crate engine didn't seem bad, until we got it in a running and realized that it was an hecho in mexico engine... Not real happy about that. A 4Bt or similar displacement diesel would have been a decent choice in retrospect.

And NO, the cummins isn't the cure-all for everything nor is it the best. There is a burgeoning market for swap-specific parts though, for those who don't have the fab shop and time to spnd figuring out the exact angle of the dangle and fabricating all of the adapters, etc. I'd truly love to be able to do that, but it's not in the cards anytime soon. a 24 valve or a 6.7 could be a reality though. I would almost consider a DT360 though as it's a decent bit lighter and easier to finagle in than a DT466. A 466 WOULD be a decent engine for a Deuce or 5ton re-power, while converting it into a super singles monster truck though, or a CAT 3406B.

I wonder if the generator engine where I work would fit. It a Caterpillar 3412.
It's 21 years old . A little over 800 hours on it.

I believe that's what our backup is here at work as well. Ours is a DC only generator to charge our battery banks up gets ran every Friday for a couple hours.

Should of went LS.
Thought about that too'... A 5.3 or a 6.0 would've worked just fine.

The only difference between a smoke dragon and an EPA stove is a few fire brick.
My EPA's will run you into the next room if not careful. :D
