I carried an iphone for work, too. Then they started monitoring the usage and I got my own phone for private use. An LG6. Love it, and hate Apple with a passion. My work phone finally died a few weeks ago and the company gave us a choice of 4 phones, 3 Apples or a samsung 6. I'm not a huge fan of Samsung products but sure as hword wasn't going to another apple.

I hate iPhones about as much as most folks hate Stihl in here. Work made me carry one for 5 years while I was there. It's a great phone for business, I'll give it that. But if I'm spending money that I earned on a phone, it'll be an Android. Most likely Samsung until the next big player comes along.

I had a Samsung galaxy 3 for 5 years. Still have it and use it for my obd2 scanner and small snake camera.

Got a Note 8 now and love it.

What is it? What is so special about it?
I'm not sure what the base phone is, but it has a flir attached to it, which is an infrared imaging device. You can point it at anything, and it gives you an image based on the temperature of what it sees. I'd love to get one, but I get by with my Fluke ir meter for now.

They make a plug in module for standard phones.

My Note 8 has become more of a work phone than personal phone for me. I'm writing info down with the S-pen constantly.

I have had it since August and have had no problems with it. Dropped it on asphalt first day out. I needed something that could handle being out in all types of weather and my being clumsy. It is a cat s60 contractor grade and cost about $600. I use it for work and farm so I will put it toward my taxes this year. You can buy direct from catphones or amazon. Uses sim card so ATT, t-mobile and straight talk. Didn't need flir but it came with the phone and so far i have used it a few times. They have dual sim cards to use as home/business for different numbers to same phone.

Put a new radiator on tractor and was playing and watching for thermostat to open and looked at the exhaust manifold. Surprised to find one of the cylinders not firing. Been wondering why the tractor was down on power and we just figured that it was getting old. Cleaned injector nozzle with no change and ended up figuring out pump was not allowing fuel on that injector. Made adjustments by trying to balance the amount of heat on manifold and tractor runs much better now. Never would have known otherwise.

That's an incredibly cool piece of gadgetry right there. I'd be looking at everything through the FLIR. So many uses. Heat loss in the house being a big one. And about the same cost as a top of the line Samsung. Probably can't get one for US Cellular though from your description.
