Yesterday was a good day.
Emerson was home, and we went out and chopped ice on the sidewalk, which is dry and clear. It was a bit of work, and plenty cold, though it’s colder now. We came in and built a train. Nancys work closed early, so I got the splitter put together, not much to it but cold and heavy. Be safe out there!

You know you must have done something right raising your daughter when you pull up to her house to do a tune up on your own ride and find her changing her own radiator, hoses, fan, and condenser etc..... I offered my help if she needed it but she had her Durango back together before I had my plugs, wires, cap and rotor changed on my half ton.....[emoji16]

I don't know. I found it at the Habitat Store, a big tin of train stuff for about 12 dollars. Nancy has added to it with pieces from the local toy store. She says ther are about 3 brands that sort of interchange.
Ran across a big duffle bag of that stuff the other day. Buried in a corner of the den. My oldest son would build tracks all over the house for days on end.

Good morning!

Today's agenda is to install the new dishwasher. Apparently there is no longer room for electrical boxes behind the new machine, which adds a new separate junction box to the mix. I had it cobbled together with a work box or two in the dishwasher cavity, and the new machine takes up more of that space. So, it being on an exterior wall, I have a lot of refitting and rerouting to do. I did not expect that. I'd rather be using my new splitter, but maybe I can get to that, too at some point.

Have a good day, gentlemen!

Splitter hose question: The assembly manual says to use pipe dope or teflon tape on the hose fittings, but the fitting are clearly conical JIC fittings, which the internet says do NOT take sealant. Permatex makes a hydralic thread sealer, but I think it may be for the older NPT fittings. I put them together fairly tightly the other day, just to keep dirt out of the system, and I wanted to make sure I knew what to do before final assembly. Now I see that JIC fittings can distort and not seal well when reused, which this may constitute if I take them apart and reconnect them. It was so cold out the other day, and I was racing against daylight, and I didn't really make sure every bit of debris or whatever was off the fitting. I just ran my cold finger on it to try to clean it.

Opinions?
