My Mom's husband has the S&W 460XVR with the 8" barrel. It's a lot of fun to shoot. It'll shoot .460 S&W, .454 Casull, and .45 Colt. The fireballs that it makes shooting .460 are way more than impressive. The recoil anticipation when switching from .460 to .45 Colt is pretty comical to watch from the sidelines.
What is funny is when you load up a mix of 45 colt and hot 460 loads and let them shoot the 45 colt first then the 460 hits. That's great stuff. :)

Cobey: Or anyone with an 066 (ish).

Does this throttle rod look right?

Darn thing hangs up and won’t return to idle. Like the rod is too long or not bent right.
That hook should be about 90 degree
To the strait part. I can take a pic.
The hook should move free in the carb
Linkage slot

Maybe a short barrel 44 magnum. I've never seen one of those, though. Revolver with a 4 inch barrel would.
I like my 4" Smith, but I also spent a lot of time reading the musings of Elmer Keith in the '80's...

I was supposed to inherit a .44 SRH Alaskan from a very good friend upon His passing, only to find out that it was the one pistol in His collection, along with some Masonic rings and other things to come up missing shortly after they fired the home health care chick for general laziness and incompetence. We both called that revolver "Baby" because she was a sweetheart and was honestly more comfortable to shoot with any given load than my Smith, SMH. I may buy one just because I love the .44 and honestly don't think that my 629 was built for 300gr+ loads. It's more of a .44spl that can sometimes shoot a mag, and the .44 is pretty darn special.

My impression also. I think the angle ties it up.

Hard to see in the IPL.

Fixed! I think. Maybe.‍♂️

Actually the .500 mag is a pleasure to shoot if you stick with light loads. 4.5# gun is real tame. 400 gr and under you can shoot till your wallet bleeds. 500 & up it's a bit less comfortable but still not a real biter.
Can't argue the practical use point tho.

I was invited to come out to a conference as a subject matter expert and share my $0.02. It's been nice and the connections I'm making will likely help me post A.F. employment.
Amen. Knowing a name and having that connection can make all the difference in the world. This place is proof of that. I've learned a ton from folks on here and have some people I can call on if needed.
