That's the thing...

I already got all that stuff..

Sold my last .44 2 years ago and have regretted it ever since.. I am once again "complete"..

Got 250 grain cowboy loads in it already.. Just waiting for tomorrow morning.
I would be a happy camper with my 4" 629, but the thing continually has lock-work problems which freeze the action. I may send it back for S&W to have a look-see and un-effing... I would like to have a Bisley Blackhawk in either .44 Mag or .45 colt and the .480 is a fun round too. Right now I'm actually looking pretty hard at a Magnum Research small frame in either .44 or .454 Casull. We'll see.

Carl, was that a 686 S&W? Darn fine revolver. I may yet buy one depending on whether or not I inherit Dad's 6" Python...

Yes, 686. Former competition gun I traded from a friend. Obsolete it was but fine lock-work in double action. [emoji108]

Only way I shoot it. Killed a couple small doe with it years past.

Learned not to trust everything you read in a loading manual with it. Yikes! Had to buy a bullet puller.[emoji90]

I tend shoot my Taurus 608 8-shooter .357 double action. Single action can be more accurate, but I'm more consistent running it double action. I still may buy a DAO Ruger SP101 or Subby S&W as a CCW revolver alternative.

You may want to shoot a 454 before spending any money on it.
They aren't very friendly to shoot.

I've got a 460 smith magnum the 454 big brother and it isn't bad as long as the gun is decently weighted. When I start loading up the 415grn loads running 1600+fps then she starts gettn the recoil.

What kind of pressures does the .460 run?

They start around 45k hand loads run well past 56k. You need to look up the ballistics of the Hornady 200 grn factory loads. Pretty flat out to 250yrds.

I just picked up some Barnes solid copper 185 grn I'm gonna push hard to see what it is capable of. We r shooting for 26-2800fps out of a 12" barrel.

The .44 magnum that lives at my house. Bought it for a song from the previous owner because the swivel for the cylinder was wonky. $50 round trip postage back to Taurus and it's good as new. I'd like to shoot a deer with it one day.
Had a teacher in Votech that could shoot a coyote silhouette at 250 yards with a Ruger 44 mag. He also killed a deer at 800 yards with a 308. Open sights.
