Good gravy, I'm sore today. I think I'll take a day off from cutting wood tomorrow. Any volunteers to unload my truck in the morning?

I'm guessing it's the Hickory though.
Due to the moisture content and wood density, should be virtually identical. Though once dry, the hickory may get the nod.

As long as the bugs don't tip the scale in favor of the white oak.
Just sayin..

They love hickory..

Howdy folks.

I have been weatherizing my front porch a bit, trying to run a new gas line throughout the basement, and finding leaks. Apparently 1" pipe is harder to tighten sufficiently, and it doesn't help that I recessed the main pipe between a beam and the furnace trunk line. Oh well. It will be a very good system when it's done. I did get the wood burner hooked up to the ductwork, and it does work, but I think the hot air will move better if I connect the shroud around the burner to the cold air return duct. That way I don't have to keep the basement door open for the air to move. Lot of work involved. Hope you guys are doing well. Nancy is still improving. Yesterday was the six year anniversary of her near-fatal attack by her former husband, so it was pretty stressful, but we went out for a good dinner and each day gets us a little further along from the tougher times.

Take care, be safe.

Morning midlanders!

Lowering rakers on some chains so I can load the 066 clone.

Dang it to hell!

Went to the trouble of dressing this bar to discover a tooth missing off the nose sprocket.
