Just got this 900D running the other day. For having sat outside under some tin roof panels it was super clean inside! Biggest thing was replacing the cracked flywheel and putting a kit in the carb. Picked it up 2 years ago from a fella who was getting rid of a bunch of vintage saws. Like many of its kind it is missing the muffler cover. Being the genius that I am, I started it in the shop with no hearing protection. Holy crap it was loud, about blew my ear drums out! Need to find a replacement cover or make one!
Really want to replace the wimpy dawgs with something better. I'm probably going to have to make something but it'll have to wait as I have no acetylene for my torch. Also going to need to get a decent sized bar as I don't have anything that will fit. A D096 mount bar should do the trick but I believe a D196 could also fit the bill with a minor modification?

This may not be the best place to post, however, just looking for top handle to convert my 922, XL76, SL130 to full wraps. Does anyone have any they will part with? Thanks in advance

I bought this Super 77 the other day. It has seen little use.

Nice 77! My brother got one that was so well used that one of the cyl portions over a transfer got too thin and cracked. It got a good used top end off a 775G carcass and now resides in Dike Iowa wearing the 4' bar and 1/2" chain it came with. My brother's was blue with a red crankcase, and the wrap was cracked so I'm guessing it was on the wrong end of a tree at one point.

I just bought an XL-104 last night on feebay. It looks to be in good shape & is supposed to have good compression.Time will tell on this rarity.I've never seen a 104.I have 3 101s,2 102s,a 103,& now a 104.I also have a 113,2 123s,& a 130.The 101 if properly tuned could give a Mac 10-10 a run for it's money, both are 54cc.The 102 is a helluva lot lighter than a Mac 10-10S,both are 57cc.I'll get some pics on here whenI get the saw later this week.

Been playing around with the big 900 series saws the past week. I picked up a 900D, 909G and a 9-23.

The 900D is so close to running, I put an atom chip on it, cleaned/rebuilt carb etc.

I can get it to run WOT just fine, but it will not idle, seems to not really respond to L side adjustments, takes throttle just fine. I didn't pull welch plugs in carb.

Is there anything I'm missing here for someone familiar?

Back through carb again?

Pull the Welch plugs and clean out the tiny holes that are the idle circuit. They are clean when you can see light thru them. Shine the flashlight into the bore and look for light thru the holes. If you can see it , close it up. You’re done.

Good call, worked like a charm!

Duke, would you happen to have a muffler cover and cap for one of those 900/990 saws? I got a 900D that I fixed up a couple months ago that has the newer style muffler base like the one in the attached diagram. It has no cover and holy hell is it loud! I had figured that I was going to have to make my own but seeing as you picked up a couple I thought I would ask.

I don't really have one I'd part with.

I heard those get lost a lot, LOL
