Thank you Lee. I am going to test this saw for the first time tomorrow. If it starts I will see if I can get these.

Can anyone tell me a good plug for this saw that I can find. I see some Champion HO-8A plugs for 25$ on line. The cross references don't look right to me. Way to long into the cylinder.
Trying to work a deal with the guy who has some reeds.

Friend of mine has a never used Super 2. I know they made tons of these but does this have any collectors value?

Condition is a big part of collector value. So yes, the super 2 in unused condition has some value.

Is there a substitute starter spring that might work on this 6-22 saw? there are a lot of springs out there. Something has to work right?

If it's just broken at either end, heat it up and re-bend it to fit whatever slot it's supposed to fit. Common problem and fix for Mac recoil springs.

I tried heating it yesterday and it broke right off. Today I did it with out the heat and it worked. I guess it got to the point were a little heat was ok. Let see how long it lasts.

I’m new to the Homelite club! I was gifted this XL-12. From what I see looks like an earlier model. Had tons of horizontal and vertical play in the crank so i stripped it. Got some odds and ends ordered so we shall see what I can make happen. Very interesting design overall especially the fuel pickup system.02F9188B-9308-4A87-BB4B-031439783519.jpeg14FF3F8A-8E7E-4FBE-9480-6EA45CF3CC87.jpeg

I'm curious about the fuel system you mentioned. Is it the "wick style"? Could you include a picture of the serial number?

In comment for the super 2 they were just an inexpensive ,trim the apple tree in the back yard once a year type of saw .Many you find have chains that have never been filed .Of course they don't run which is typical .As of late everybody thinks just because they are old they must be worth a kings ransom which they are not .New they sold for a tad under $100 .I've got a couple of them some place that I think might run or at least they did at one time or another .Much else than that they might work for a door stop but they are too small for a row boat anchor .That attempt of humor aside if they run considering the tiny things they don't do bad .

Thanks! I’ll keep that in mind!

That crank may still be a little sloppy when put back together. Sorta their nature.
Kind of seemed like that’s how it would be by design. Can’t imagine the bosses in the case are real accurate especially with the gasket and such.

That's a fairly early one. Built sometime in 1965.
