I picked up an interesting Homelite item. NOS fuel tank for the Homelite 24V DC auxiliary power unit used on a B-17 bomber.

Pretty remarkable right there. I'll bet there's a Confederate Air Force member or two who'd also be more than interested in it.

I may be mistaken but I think Homelite started out making generators .In my life time I've seen several .Fact I have a 5,000 watt unit that says Homelite but I think it's made by somebody else .

More on what I think that gas tank goes to .It might be a large unit P3 aircraft generator that was used on bombers .If so these things were built bullet proof with the armatures wrapped with piano wire .Once they get up to speed they sound like a siren sucking in a huge amount of cooling air .I have one that 45-50 years ago I was going to make a welder with it but never did .These things are 200 amps and 24 volts .

The holes were off set so that did not work. I just did some bending. It looks ok. Home it works.

If i'm not mistaken a bunch of Homelite models use that same reed, Look on Leon's site he has all the Homelite IPL's
where you can see what models are the same as a 6-22. I believe All the Wiz models and Super Wiz are the same.

He has a cage and new reeds for a XL model. Part # don't match but it looks like it is the right one. Do not see any reeds by them self

I don't think any of the XL reed cages or reeds are swappable with what you have there. I have two reed cages out of Super XLs and they're a plastic cage with much smaller reeds.

There was a guy making aftermarket reeds for those but I haven't seen them listed on Ebay for a while.
