I'm pretty stoked about finding it. The P/C look great through the exhaust as well. I'm in the middle of another old saw right now though, so not sure when I'll get to it. It's missing the A/F cover, the muffler cover and the back shroud. I'll start gathering parts for it now though. I also got a Mac Super 44A, and a Pioneer P42 as part of this deal. It was a good day!

P42 as well! You did well. I love those Pioneers.

I don't have a 2100 Super but did run one that belongs to Lee Harvey at the 2018 New York GTG.

Pic attached. Check the pile of chips under the saw.

Nice. I like those two saws. The other old saw I said I was in the middle of is a Poulan 5400. That picture is kind of ironic.

I've had 3 of these ST Homelites for about 5 years and finally got around to making them run. Muffler gut really helped.
Super simple to work on and used modern gear boxes on the heads with the echo style speed feed head. One has a 1987 stamp in the cover .

I have a low miles ST-155 (I think thats the model number) that is complete and did run a few years ago. You can have it for actual shipping cost if you like.

I've torn down the what I thought was the 2100 Super, but I'm not sure it is. Is there a tell tell indication between the 2100S and the super 2100? This one has a splined crank for the Clutch, and a thin ring piston.1000003436.jpg1000003437.jpg1000003435.jpg

Well I dragged out the old ST-155 and darn if she didn't fire up on the second pull! Actually runs pretty good for sitting in the basement for the last 8 or 9 years since we moved. As I remember I refreshed the carb before the move but never got around to adjusting it properly. Walbro WT-71, what are the initial settings on it? She idles and accelerates, seems to be pretty rich right now. Of course, I remember these things would smoke like a choo choo train back in the day when they were new! I'll let the new fuel soak in overnight and try trimming the yard with it tomorrow.

I have a weeder and if you want to turn it off, you press Off and you can immediately hear the engine running differently, but it only turns off after about 3-5 seconds.

The crank in both are the same, one of the few differences I've found is the Super 2100 was available with the 7/8" clutch, the 2100 and 2100s were not, only a 3'4" clutch. You can tell by the thickness of the clutch cover

You probably have a poor ground in the kill switch.

Thanks. I found a service manual for Walbro WT series and it said to start from 1-1/4 out on each one and go from there. I did that, and trimmed around the house with it, adjusting a little at a time. I ended up with a nice steady idle of 2800 rpm, WOT at 7000 with the four stroking just barely cleaned up. I would guess the screws are something like 1-3/4 out on low, 1/1/2 high. This machine is direct drive with no clutch, which works well when trimming up against the house and trying not to scar the foundation..For light weeds you can just hold it with one hand and let it cut at idle speed. The original bump feed head also works surprisingly well.

I'm still a big Echo/Shindaiwa fan, but it is nice to revisit these old school machines I grew up with and get good service out of them. Heck, I may even get the old bottom engine ST-80 off the wall and put her back to work since Steve (thanks buddy!) gave me a bona fide NOS example for display!
