Well, it seems you cannot order just those little posts…have to get the whole $30 kit.
maybe I can weld something to a bolt head...

But you don’t have to order the whole, $150 (+) vise.

The vice plates are actually a wear item, too, so it doesn’t hurt too, have them.

How do you guys like to go about setup for rakers on an Oregon grinder? I feel as though there is too much play in the grinder arm and stopper to be precise with raker depth, so I’ve just resorted to hand filing rakers with my WCS progressive depth gauge.

Just learn how to finesse the thing. It just takes some practice.
I’ll never go back to hand filing rakers except for doing the first 2 on the chain with the progressive gauge before grinding.

I may just have to set up my second 511a for rakers…

I setup my Super Jolly for rakers. I essentially use my WCS progressive gauge to set the depth with my grinder. Grind a little, check it, and adjust the stop after. Just like everything with these grinders there's sloppy movement. Just get the feel for it and try to be consistent.

It never gets old…
Not even after 9 years.

Would be nice to see all the moving parts in motion. Kind of reminds me of a WILLY WONKA contraption only more precision.
(Y'ALL thought I was gonna say something about a sexy gal walkin')

I don’t have a YouTube account so if someone really wants a vid you can DM me and I can send it so you can post it.

I think most of us here would like to see it in action, and many of us would be willing to upload videos of it to our channels for others to see & enjoy them!

I will take a longer one next week.
Maybe Philbert could middle man an email of the longer video from you and post it to OPE for us tech challenged members.
The short one you Emailed me was a good teaser.
Needless to say I neglected to discuss this idea with @Philbert first.
PLEASE PHILBERT.

I don't care who is going to upload the videos to their channel as long as we can all easily enjoy them not having to leave the forum.

Lots of YouTube videos if you Google ‘Franzen Chainsaw Grinder’, or something similar.

Here is one from ‘Taryl’, with a sales rep that also describes some of the features:
