The factory trans dipstick tube I cut down was functional but made contact with the firewall.

Bought a Lokar firewall mount one and made a bracket to hold it to the back of the cylinder head.

Gave the Silverado some attention today. A bit past due but gave it an oil and filter change. Also redid the wooden rear bumper since my first one busted off after swinging the rear end of the truck into a snowbank, went with much thicker lumber this time around. Also zip tied in my lower left headlight better.

Looks overdue for a fuel filter change

I looked at this truck on Monday for a no start.
The rear crossmember went to chow town on the fuel pump module wiring. I had looked at it a few weeks prior for some funky shifting.
Guy decided he was done with it.
Scrap yard said they would give him roughly what his bill would have been. He signed the title over and I made his bill go away..



I'm pulling the 5.3 because you never know when something will need an LS swap. Tailgate, fenders, probably doors and a few other pieces will get swapped to my shîtbôx plow truck, the brand new Goodyear Duratracs will get sold and I'll scrap the rest.

Got the center seat/console, doors and fenders swapped over. Plus, because I'm still an adolescent I just had to thrash the donor truck through the snow at a high rate of speed.


Swapped the drivers door opening seal, passenger wiper arm also.
I figure this summer I'll booger in some rockers and cab corners and hose the hole thing flat black. Or olive drab..

Not sure why I waited 8 months of leaving my window down and or opening the driver's side door on my Silverado from the other side to get the rod back in its hole for the driver's side exterior door handle to work but I finally did it in not even a half hour.

Interesting t find it has cathedral port heads. That was uncommon. No biggie as it will probably get aftermarket ones anyway.

Got it loaded up to go to the junkyard. My now showroom fresh plow truck has been renamed the Z-bra by my wife...

I know a lot for people like the ported cathedral ports over the large rectangle port, the cnc ported ones flow as much as the stock gm rec ports with a smaller overall port, better drivability I hear

Didn't look yet. It's not common.

I'll make a decision once I get it apart and see what it all needs. If the crank needs to be turned it will most likely just get a new one..with a longer stroke..
