I’ve ran Lock Right and LA Lockers on street cars without any issues except a chirp, squeal, or every once in a while a clunk from the rear end. I love them and with a very minimal experience curve, can be driven very very silently, even with big wide sticky tiresDose anyone have a recommendation for a posi unit for a gm 10.5 14bt ff. Was wanting a cable selector unit (ox locker) but they haven’t made one. Don’t really want an arb. Was also hoping for usa made! Want good street manners and not a ratcheting unit!
Gave her some sunlight today and vacuumed out her bay. She drove back in, up the apron on her own motor. Going to run stainless brake lines next with a proportional valve. Thinking about residual pressure valves for the front and rear since they are disks all around nowView attachment 395328View attachment 395329View attachment 395330View attachment 395331
On one tons? Go 37s and 4.56…maybe deeper. ORD makes a link setup. 63s are good stuff.I am running the strange worm gear unit in the camaro, love it, I think it’s a tru-track or tru-track style.
It’s going to have 35” tires and an nv4500 5speed, 4:10 gears, mostly sand dunes and gravel logging roads, nothing too serious. Hopefully going to do links’s and coil overs up front and probably 63 real leafs.
I hear you on that, the nv4500 has pretty low gears, have had a th350/205 same setup an 37” plus tires for years, not ideal. The th350 has a 2.52 first and the nv has a 3.04 second gear, and 5.61 first, pretty low, the rear is the same on the 3/4 ton weight wise, except the brakes. but ya the Dana 60 is heavier, I got it cheap, and is way cheaper to do crossover steer. Im getting older, and 35’ s are an attempt to be able to get into it later! LolYeah, 4.88s. One tons are heavy and overkill for 35s, and hang down low. Unsprung weight. My k5 was a pig in the sand when I went 1 tons
If you wanna mob the dunes and have a decent ride, go 3/4 ton and 35s
I think we should have an off road thread…
Pfft, I'm way ahead of you, all mine are still on their tires. For as often as they move they might as well be on jackstands, but they're not. But, I just got approved for a 2 week vacation from the 13th-26th so I'll hopefully be able to stuff my new front axle under my Ferd soon.My car would rule the "it lives on jackstands" thread.
Nice! I'd love to hear her idle!
I bought it in 2000.Pfft, I'm way ahead of you, all mine are still on their tires. For as often as they move they might as well be on jackstands, but they're not. I purchased my house in 94, and put the Mustang and my Challenger on jackstands. The Mustang is closing in on paint, believe it or not,I bought it in 2000.
Drove it a few miles and took it apart.
It hasn't been on jackstands the whole 23 years, but close..

The Challenger is still on the same jackstands.
Mathing puts the Challenger at 29 years just setting there
Win the trophy for being the least motivated ?You win!
If you lived closer, I could take care of that smooth idle issue for you.
It’s as rough as the handbrake is willing to put up with. Idle was up around 900-950 just because she “doesn’t like it so bumpy”………… women ?!?!?!!!!If you lived closer, I could take care of that smooth idle issue for you.
