390cc in the quad! The camaro has a 377ci, 400sb with a 350 stroke
That's different, most use the 400 crank in the 350 block. I know nobody likes to build a smaller engine but I have always wanted to build a 302 Chevy engine and put it in a light car like a late 70's early 80's Malibu.

I built it as a rpm motor. Make it a little easier to hook up on the street and be able to rev out and get speed that way. I still had a hard time hooking up. It’s a solid roller motor with afr210’s makes good power to 7500. Am in the middle of gathering parts for a fuel system upgrade C9458470-BD71-4ED1-9040-1F04E36EB659.jpeg

I was gonna say, I thought the 2.5 that some of the 80's Camaros had was small!

The last engine I built was for a retired fellow with an 89 Camaro. It had a small v6 with a bad rear seal. He told me what it would cost to replace it. I stuck my foot in my mouth when I said, why not put a 350 in it? He gave me the challenge of building it crazy fast, with decent gas mileage, a smooth idle and no computers. Smooth idle??? Who does that?
91 block, KB 10:1 pistons, new quadrajet and I was lucky enough to find a low mile zz4 vette roller cam setup complete. Crank, rods and pistons were balanced. I don't remember what heads I got for it, but the shop ported them for me. Had to find a donor Z28 for the parts to fit it under the stock hood..
That was 11 years ago (he is now in his later 70's) and it still runs great, but he is on his 3rd built 700R4 transmission. Ron's Camaro 007.JPGRon's Camaro 001.JPG

I took advantage of a week off and resumed re-assembly on my new front axle, fingers crossed by end of day tomorrow my new spring perch will be welded on and everything but the hubs will be back on the axle.
