I had a brief break from truck wrenching this afternoon, and I got to wrench on the Land Cruiser I dd. About 30 mins into a 3hr round trip it developed a nasty death wobble that varied between "Was I just imagining that wobble earlier?" to "Holy sh!t! My front tires are gonna be heading in opposite directions any second now!". Needless to say, as soon as I got home I began poking at the front end and I found that the steering stabilizer was pissing oil. I ordered a new one from Napa, pulled the old one out, determined it was definitely bad, and bolted up the new one. Fortunately? Unfortunately? It's not looking like I'll need to use Yella as a backup..... yet.

The bed will need a second coat (and some more bodywork) but the truck at least looks like it's one general color now. My brother shot the "dregs" on the fender I'm replacing, the paint colors are close but the gray primer makes the new stuff look more grey, and the factory red primer makes the old stuff look more red. And yes, the plastic did blow back and hit the paint by the cab in the first pic, that's why there are dark patches.

Looks good! Don’t say it looks like a “general” color lol the Ford strong will be on you! Lol I love the. Color it’s so vintage, similar to to okra on gm stuff! Don’t forget age changes color a ton! Not just primer

I have to say, I'm somewhat surprised this thread would do this well. Mine usually don't make much more than a page or two.
I was told this thread would do well but I kinda had my doubts.

Thanks to all contributing their projects here. I really like to see them all.

nasty death wobble
My project truck, the 96 F350, had a death wobble. It would wear out the tie rod on the left side once a year. Truck was never equipped with a stabilizer. 6-7 years later, I was told to replace the spindle knuckle. Guy said sometimes the hole for the tie rod can occasionally be cast at the wrong angle. I replaced it and never thru another tie rod for the last 5 years I drove the truck.

Sharing this hoping it might help someone down the road .... so to speak.

Lookin good !
Paintin her that lighter Ford engine blue?
I like that color over their darker blue.

I'm painting it the darker blue. I had bought the middle old ford blue but I feel it will be way too overpowering. But don't worry, I have some neat ideas for the color you will appreciate!

Steve, I like that color. Don't know why but it's grown on me over the years. Maybe a Ford thing....?
I've even started to get comfortable with the smurf Dolkitas.

Remember above I said I was going to paint it dark blue. Well, it was too dark. Went with old ford blue and it was exactly what I was looking for!

Dolkitas are my favorite!

Yes I do, and I know the darker Blue you're referencing too. May have looked cool with the valve cover and a few accessory brackets done in the darker blue. A two tone I6.
Nice display of Dolkitas. Your missin a 9010.

Too much money for a saw I'll probably never use. That 7910 will cut everything I have ever encountered here.
