25 for semi holds up best for me and I'm pretty sure I go zero.Do whichever you prefer. 25 prolly hold up better 30 probably cut a hair faster
That's the way I did it for years and happy with results. I've recently started doing 10 degrees down on chisel, not sure it really makes much difference for what I'm doing.when i use my granberg i use 0 and 30 on all chain seems like a happy medium
So when setting the up angle do you set height (C), before or after Up angle adjustment ? Right now I typically use 30 degree top plate and 1/5 height adjustment. Where would the 10 degree up angle come in to play as far as setup goes ?The Granberg will let you set:
- top plate angle 'A' (typically 30°);
- file height 'C' (typically 1/5 diameter above top plate);
- down angle 'B' (typically 0° or 10°);
- cutter length.

You can choose whatever settings you want, or use the manufacturer's specs. The key thing is that the jig will help you get whatever settings you choose accurately and consistently.
