Spent a week at a camp in northern Ontario, me being me I was gifted with firewood duty. I did up more after this, worked out to about 1/2 cord of Spruce and some balsam? poplar. Not much picking for prime firewood there
Used a husky 455 and chopping axe to split, I couldn’t bring my toys

Cool!

It all burns once You get a good ember bedding.

I started this one with dry turkey oak bark.

While it was burning I started peeling my cherry log and dropped the wet cherry bark in.

Short lived smokescreen, mostly moist evaporating, and then this.

The last of the large ash trees .Around 40-45 feet of 30 inch stuff plus another 16-20 I've already cut up from a 100 footer when it was still standing .I'm guessing it's around 3.5 cords .I must say I do like that skid loader which is my neighbors .He has it I have a dozer and 6 chainsaws 100 cc and larger ,works out well for both of us .

I got a little for my cabin this morning. It's been a while since I posted on this thread, it's always been my favorite thread on this forum. I've cut a sh*t load of firewood this year! Today I just brought my XS 572xpg and my Stump Shot 572XP to noodle down some oak rounds. I'll bring my son with me tomorrow morning to help me carry the wood out to the snowmobile trail.

I noodle down all the firewood that I have to carry out of the woods. My son and myself will have to carry that wood about 60 yards through the thick woods to my truck and trailer. I noodle all the time! The wood is much lighter, and who doesn't like more trigger time with there saws.

Save all those noodles, makes great fire starter,

It's easier for me to haul the larger logs to the splitter rather than noodle them or move the splitter to the log .Lots of wood in those big rounds but a lot of work getting it .As it is I have two splitters .My home built which is a heavy duty Judy it either takes four men to move or a tractor ..Plus one I'm custoidial for keeping it from being slolen that I can move using the Toro zero turn mower .

You have equipment for your firewood duties. I have a log splitter , but I still have to get the firewood that I cut out of the woods. That's why I noodle it down. Plus you could never get equipment into some of the places that I'm cutting firewood.
