I finally got back out and started hauling wood back home. 2 of these trees I took down back in May. There's 5 honey locust right here. Then there's a huge pile of pushed together stuff, that's going to take so sorting through.
I'm going to get after it the next week. So hopefully there's not much left here next week. There's gotta be 10 cord right where I'm at. Probably another 5 in the pushed together pile. Then there's 2 other large piles I have yet to fully assess.
Here's the first load and how I haul my saws to the further jobs. View attachment 355983View attachment 355984View attachment 355985View attachment 355986View attachment 355987
Never see honey locust here.
I like your taste in saws, and that saw rack is slick...
Thanky Sir! I'm thankful to have the saws and honey locut.
I use this to get my saws up off the bed when I'm going a ways from home. Keeps them from sliding all over. Simple, yet effective.
Probably stay cleaner too

Ever use semi-chisel? It's a lot more durable for dirty or frozen wood, but it is a little slower, then again dull full chisel is slower lol. I usually just ad a bit more hook to find a middle ground between the two and to help it self feed better.I got some dirty wood cut up this morning . Some of wood if soft maple and will be used in bon fires . I cut around the rot and get as many 26" pieces for a OWB . I brought out 6 chains for my mmws 562xp and my Stump Shot 562xpg . I'll I need all 6 of them , the wood is pretty dirty .
I have not used the semi chisel . I've thought about trying it out . I use 404 quite a bit but in full chisel . The corner is so large on 404 so it stays sharp much longer than 3/8 . I have a lot of chains in my rotation so it's easy to just swap out a chain when it is dull . I don't hand file anymore , I just bring a bunch of chains with me when I cut dirty wood . When I get home I enjoy drinking beer and sharpening chains on the grinder .Ever use semi-chisel? No love for that trailer!Don’t know if this counts!!!!! It’s not mine, but I helped buck it up and load it. My cousin has a firewood business, so this was all his. But I did get to run my xs 2188.View attachment 356381View attachment 356382 View attachment 356383View attachment 356384 View attachment 356385
Wow! Free? That's worth at least a case of premium coldies.Several of my neighbors are logging their properties. I got this load of culls from one of the loggers. I’m still working on tops at another property but I’ll take delivered to my splitting area over cutting and hauling every time.

He tore up my driveway about a month ago when he made a wrong turn.Wow! Free? That's worth at least a case of premium coldies.
Worked over my mini-log pile. 48” pieces of chestnut oak. Ended up being .8 cord.
