I'll probably do similar to my box. Home built frame and axle. That's after I replace the bed on the truck with a flat bed.

Thanks, it does very well. 85 heavy half. I have a second one that I'm going to add a flatbed to, since the bed on it it pretty bad.

You pick them big ones up and toss them on top? What cereal you eat?

I wish I had that kinda strength. Fella loaded them with his John Deere grapple tractor, thankfully. I'm a long ways away from my forklift, so it's nice he helped me load those.

Dead used to be standing oak the loggers left behind. Looks rough, but solid all the way to the end.I'll split this today and probably take the 2095 up and see if I got it straightened out working up the trunk. Think I got the fuel system figured out.

I cut up about four trailer loads this morning . I just got the first load hauled home . I'll send my son out to haul the rest of it home . I used a couple of 572XPs and 592xp . The 572xpg that Kevin ported has a knack of finding bad stuff in the wood . I made about eight cuts before I smoked the chain .

Pretty sure the 2095 and I are on good terms again. I'd wouldn't have cut this tree if it weren't for @Wolverine need to start checking more ugly trees to see if there solid.

Anyone ever run into funny smelling trees? I was cutting black locust this weekend it smelled like i was dancing around on a 1 day old cow pie. (trust me, I checked under my boots and nothing)
So does black locust, especially larger diameter, smell similar to *s-worde?

This may lead to other conversations but I must say, fresh cut red oak has the best smell of nostalgia to me.

I cut quite a bit of black locust this winter . I didn't notice any smell , but the wood would of been frozen .

Been a year or so but I was splitting a big black locust and it stunk to the mountain tops like cat pizz. My buddy stoped and got about 20 yards from where I was splitting and asked what stunk like cat pizz. At least it wasn’t just me.

I finished splitting and putting all the wood up on pallets today.....That's it for me for a while - My next load of logs with probably show up sometime in September

Making progress on this dead oak. Hit a stopping point when the kabota wouldn't roll this section over so I could cut the bottoms.

I just "sacrifice" a chain and cut through and into the ground, 3-4 rounds apart.

I have no heavy machinery to move large logs, as such jeopardizing the sharpness of a chain is a small price to pay.

Seems as that would be a good place for some 404 semi chisel.
My kabota isn't very big but it rarely fails to get the job done.

Was thinking the same thing have a Woodchuck log tool amazing the leverage you can get

I sometimes get a long 4" diameter branch and a round. Prop it up next to the log. I try and use the stuff I have in the woods for leverage. Most of the times it works.

All I do for firewood I sell. Nature's storage bin... standing dead.
