If I’m running 404 it’s because I like how well it holds its edge. I don’t use it a ton but it goes forever between sharpening. Stuff that would just hammer a chisel tooth

not to sound like a know it all but a lot of guys just like to say full chisel I think. Semi is great once the log hits the ground. Anything skidded around. Yeah semi for sure. Anything old hard and dead with any size to it I grab the 404 semi. Just my personal 2 cents

I guess this is the appropriate thread for this question.
What's the local charge per cord delivered in your area? Within 50 miles.
I'm thinking with rising fuel costs and possibly a higher demand, truly seasoned wood should hit $400.
"Semi seasoned @ $350 and green fresh cut at $275-300.
All wood is good hardwoods. Softest being sugar/rock maple.
Thinking of offering seasoned softer maples, popular and the like at $200ish. Dries quick enough in a season to sell as seasoned wood.

Thoughts?

Here's the past month of tree work piled up. Honey locust trees and the trunk of a maple as well. The limbs are in my trailer and I forgot to get a picture of those. It's all or nothing around here it seems. I took down 5 big elms last week, but left them lay for another guy because I'm moving at the end of the year to a farm and so I'm being a little picky on what I bring home until I get out there. I don't want to handle stuff 5 times unless it's locust. The farm is along a creek and a couple miles north of a "river", so there'll be tons of trees out there for me.

All the firewood i sell is mainly standing dead oak. I have it now at $300 and that's a stacked 6ft wide by 8 feet long by 3 feet high load. So roughly 144 cu feet. Over a cord.
I don't deliver for that price over 20 miles. You figure 40 miles round trip. Over that I have a fuel surcharge. At 7mpg and 4.40 a gallon it adds up.
I don't do this for free.
