Is it just for supplemental heat?
No. We have a forced hot air oil burner but I now have an Englands add on wood furnace that ducts into the plenum. I've been pretty much primarily wood since '10. Used a Baker wood/coal stove for most of those years. Pulled the squirrel cage door off the oil furnace and circulated air, worked pretty good.

What type of firewood do you burn ? I don't know what type of tree's grow in Pennsylvania?
It's a great place to be a wood burner. We have almost all the premium hardwoods. I've been into a lot full of shagbark hickory a few years ago. Red oak galore, locust, mulberry, can't think of many we don't have. Started by buying $1 permits to cut on Motts orchards. Tree's got old or they want to change variety so they bulldoze them over and burn what isn't cut up.
DSC03944.JPG I ended up w/ 16 cords of it.

Heck yeah!
You wear a helmet when falling right.
I should have had one on working on my Honda odyssey today.
Put the right rear wheel on and then stood up and went to go to the back left, slammed my head into the hatch door right on the seam, dent me straight to the ground . When I got up I just went in the house in case I passed out, I didn't, I'm pretty hard headed :smash2:. I had my winter hat on and still got a nice abrasion and a bit of a goose egg, should be scabbed up nice for Christmas pictures at the inlaws :cunaooooo:.
Made some cookies yesterday, that's the extent on my cutting this week.

I started wearing a helmet 10 plus years ago. I use to wear safety glasses and ear muffs . I was always getting poked in the face with sticks . I bought helmet with a screen covering my face. When limping I can hack through the brush without getting poked in the face. Some of the places I cut are really brushy .
