Yes, I concur on both statements! lolThey use hard steel for sure. But the wood is very difficult to split as well.

When it's straight grain like that i split faster with the fikars than I do with the hydraulic splitter!The stuff Dan and I cut splits super easy with the fiskars, really straight grain. The last oak I split was a pain, tons of knots in it, took forever to split!

Looks like ash, not pine as they told you. Let's buck to length and split some of this soon. That's about 100 therms or more of NG equivalent loaded in your truck, also known as 10 million BTUs. Had I been there, we would have loaded all of it, rain or shine.
