Stove is fired up, keeping the shop toasty. Meanwhile I’m trying to clean this transfer cover up from the weld. It warped. Would’ve been easier to machine a new cover, I do believe.

I consider OPE the more technical of the two forums. Love to follow all the threads here and soak it up.

Have you ever checked out three port transfers for Yamaha TZ350 two strokes track bikes?

Food for thought.D17002BE-8430-4A86-A9EA-54164239A462.gif

It would be very interesting to see some machined transfer caps. I'm sure saw builders would have interest in them. And I'm sure customers would feel better vs JB weld. Only speaking from a work saw perspective. Play saw or race saw then hey whatever works lol.

Spent the evening roughing in the intake and exhaust ports on these 1128’s. Still have a few to do. Then it’s transfer time. I’m super slow though.

I will say, the 1128’s are maybe my most favoritest saws to port :). Years in a machine shop, I’ve learned not all aluminum machines the same and you can certainly tell a difference between certain grades. These older cylinders seem to be a higher quality. But I’m no metallurgist.

Welp, let’s have some fun with this saw. I’m building/porting (14) 1128’s ...

but I’m stuck waiting on some parts. So, I did what any -performance gains junkie- would do. I tore down the new 7310 for modifications.

I love build threads and I’ve gleaned many a trick from y’all fine folks here. So I figured let’s do this in real time and see what we can learn about these orange and black sons of guns. Feel free to jump in and add to, or jump in and critique. I’m an open book.
For starters why not just say 461's not everyone knows saws by series. No offense.
