I saw a video on YT where the fella runs a tank or two of mix with red armor and and shows where it cleaned basically all the carbon off of the spark arrester screen. He swears by the red armor, one reason why I gave it a try. Have been thinking of trying a couple of tanks of dominator just out of curosity to see if there is a noticable difference, I do know there are some folks that have very strong opinions on oil.

I found Dominator to have the same effect

I think amsoil considers dominator a racing type oil vs saber general type use. Both are quality oils I would use whichever one you can get easy and have good luck with. I think saber has more fuel stabilizers in it than dominator
I find myself just generally cutting and do very little if any racing. 30+ years of running 50:1 Saber:stick: Never cleaned spark arrestor screens in all that time.

Dom has corrosion inhibitors like the others but no fuel stabilizer. I use it because it’s more readily available in 1 quart jugs with the sight window on the side for measuring and it burns cleaner. The stabilizer would be the only reason I’d use it over dominator in a saw if your fuel sits for a long time. Between the mower, Ranger, backpack blowers and saws, I end up getting 10 gallons of E free every couple months anyway so it‘s not an issue

Maybe you could just buy the stabilizer amthoil sells and add it to your gas ?

FWIW, I run Dominator at 32:1 in my fleet of saws, which see daily use logging hardwoods in the upper Midwest. They start easy, run crisp, and never foul plugs. I love this stuff.

I wish they sold dominator in 10oz and 20oz bottles, all my gas cans are 2.5 or 5 gallon.

No dickin' around.

Looking at the data sheet for each Id think that :
-Dominator maintains a higher octane when mixed along with the above mentioned corrosion inhibitors
-Saber looks to be more for working and equipment because of the fuel stabilizers. I imagine Amsoil is assuming fuel maybe be left in the tank long term. There are octane boosters/maintainers in it as well just not as many as Dominator. Mixing average 2stroke oil with gas always drops the octane a bit.
VIA CHATGPT.......take those mix ratios with a grain of salt

FeatureDominatorSaber
Target ApplicationRacing/high-performance enginesGeneral purpose & everyday tools
Mix Ratio~50:1 (richer) AMSOIL~100:1 (leaner, more economical) Performance Oil Technology
Protection LevelVery high (film strength, anti-wear) AMSOILExcellent for everyday use The Best Oil
Heat HandlingExcellent in extreme heat/RPMs AMSOILGood, but geared toward normal operating conditions The Best Oil
Cleaner Burning / SmokeGood, but focus is protectionVery good — low smoke/odor Best Oil Group
Cost EfficiencyHigher cost per gallon of mixLower cost per gallon of mix Performance Oil Tech

IMO In the end Dom is overkill unless you can get it as cheap as Saber.

I believe they’re about the same price if you can find saber in the 1 quart jugs. Like I mentioned earlier, usually around here it’s in smaller bottles so it’s actually more expensive

Probably same price, I have not bought it in a few years. I got 200 Saber tear open 1.5oz packs off some guy on eBay for $50 shipped, and If I need to make price point when buying on Amsoil.com I toss in a qt.

I believe they dont have an ez mix ratio bottle at 32: in 5gal because they only have the 32oz in general form and the little bottles for everything else. But 2 8oz will get you 40:1 Most likely if falls to bottle size availability to cost and boxing for them.

Just find and keep a 20oz soda bottle to pour into for 5gal @ 32:1

Just looking at the cost on Amsoil with the preferred membership price, buying anything smaller then a qt is way more per oz

2025 pricing:
QT = 41.5 cent oz
Gal = 40.7 cent oz
8oz = 60 cent oz
3.5oz = 71.5 cent oz

Soda bottle is a good idea but you still have to fill that with the gallon bottle and a funnel. I have one of those measure right doohickeys, it works ok but stays oily all the time…
