The 261 I had was a good, and I think durable, saw. And I've heard great things about the 241. I don't think you would be disappointed with either of those two saws.

I like all brands of saws, but I have my preferred models in each size, and most of those are Husqvarnas... I am partial to the 2 and 3 series saws. 346xp is what I like in the 50cc range.
Clint that 346 is one of my favorites!

Soo, what reason for not then suggesting the 421?
Never ran one of those. I will say that my Dolmar 7900 is one of my favorite saws that I've ever ran, so I would not shy away from a Dolmar, either. I just don't have any experience with the smaller ones.

Nah, I just don't have a dealer, and already have a stihl. If I'm going to drive I have heard remarkably impressive things about the 421's durability

I'm sure someone with some experience with that particular saw will chime in... I haven't checked prices, but I'm guessing that the 421 is much cheaper than the equivalent pro model Stihl?

Here's my 261 and 260 that I had...

Literally, the only place to buy Husky's in town is Lowes, and I have no clue where the nearest husky dealer is. I do search and rescue k-9 training with the owner of the Stihl shop from the town 30 miles east of me.

And have a good Stihl dealer in town

Don't buy a Husky from Lowes. They typically just have the crappy homeowner saws.

Hence why husky isn't in this discussion/List. ;)

It's a long drive to have Mastermind service a saw, change the filter, air the tires. Like I said in the original post, Dolmar's are just puuurdyier than husky's.
Very debatable . I like husqvarnas and Jonsered !

Are you telling me you can't change a filter ? If so you definitely don't want a stihl some of the worst saws for air filtering

Saws need routine maintenance, but it's stuff that's easy to do at home. It's silly to think you'd need a dealer for that. Hell, even a Stihl dealer can work on a Husky...
