Wrong!
Tree monkey has it down. His 064 hybrid was strongest in the 41" log, kicked ass in the dollar races, and it was right in the top 3 in the cants if not on top.
You can have both!!!

This is called perspective..

Scott's unicorn has cut more wood than some would believe..
It's just a good running muffler'd saw running on pump gas.

"Real wood"??
Wtf are they talking about??
Power is power.
Wood is wood.

Race saw:
"Any good work saw with a decent chain and somebody who knows how to use it"
Running in the appropriate class.

That is great, but I think that is more the exception than the rule. For example, I know when Randy builds a saw, he will ask you what size bar you plan to run on it. There are a lot of variables.

Perfectly put Matt.
Even the pipe saw could be a work saw for bucking and limbing. That pipe was pretty compact.

Unless the saw NEEDS to be shut down after a couple cuts to cool down, I see it as a work saw that can be a race saw on the weekends.

Yes, but if geared and chained appropriately, a saw built for long bar can compete.

On my (mostly) stock 066, I initially put a 8 pin sprocket on it and 36" RSLH, and it seemed you could not stop the chain. Then I dropped the rakers a bit, and it feels much better with a 7 pin sprocket.

That saw is not real fast, but it has good torque for a stock saw. Perfect for stumping with the long bar!

Eric, wish I could have stayed longer, would like to have played with the 385, 372 and 562. I guess next time!

I know Dan did some informal testing with a ported 262, my ported 360, and my ported 362 and concluded you would need a stopwatch to tell them apart.

I know a few people were impressed with my Dr Al ported 460, and liked the way my unported 066 ran (for an unported saw).

And I know that Sondre's 6100 is very impressive. Did you get a chance to run that?
Yes! I ran sondres 6100 next to my 262 in NY. That dolmar is a beast for 60cc class. Impressed!

Im bummed Kevin and Dan didn't get a chance to run my 385. We were busy with 60 and 70 cc shootout going on at the other log cluster.... Including that screamin 562 nice replacement for a 262.
If I would have only known ........... Ida grabbed that 385 for the big log and ran that 562 against mine

Also as you can see from the times. We both ran each other's saw differently. I think my 661 has a lot of torque and I run it pretty heavy handed. It's the only saw I really run so I probably ran some of the other saws too heavy handed? i dunno. in any case it was pretty cool to run all the saws.:headbang:

Lines 7 & 8 .............. I cant take credit for them, they are Mike Lee's no decomp cylinder on that 066, not mine

Is it too early to start talkin' smack for next time ?
:eek:o_O:D:p

Are you guys gonna bring your own Desitin or should I put together a group buy and get you fellas a case to share :)

I do know i need to put in about a thousand hours of changeovers to get as fast and fluid as Scott is.
Batman's Cummerbund!!! I can get to the cant first AND get out of the first cut first - then he beats me back into the cant for the up-cut and finishes any false delusions I have in the second change-over.
With evenly matched equipment he is gonna beat me 37.5 times out of 41.
I need to file off all of his rakers when he isn't looking next year.

My top ten excuses for losing this year -
10.The mini-excavator was always in my way.
9. I couldn't hear the starter pistol.
8. I ran out of dollar bills.
7. Al's sushi weighed me down.
6. Everyone else cheated.
5. Dan made me slow dance with him in front of his wife.
4. There was glitch in the live stream.
3. Tree Monkey used his Jedi mind tricks on me.
2. I forgot my race chains in my other backpack.
1. The sun was in my eyes the whole time.

Who took that video? I forgot about that. The first time you wanted too and put your head on my shoulder. The second time for my wife you were awful nervous...[emoji23]

It's a challenge to keep a saw loaded like that. Would have been cool to see them all with 2 cuts one pushing and one feeding.

Yep. I don't care who's work saw is fastest. I like a an easy starting good mannered one I can also on a mill and use tank after tank wide open without dieseling at the end of a cut.
