Changing of the Guard

Some of you may have noticed that my signature line changed today. Spencer Layfield, my department head, friend, and mentor for the past twelve years retired yesterday. He is from a small town in South Georgia and is moving back there to be close to his grandchildren. He was an incredible asset and will be sorely missed. Brian (the General Manager) and I are going to be sharing his responsibilities for the immediate future. I apologise in advance if I am slow to answer any questions over the next few months.

Joe, I hope it is considered a promotion and you get a bump in pay to go with. You do more to promote your company brand than any other technician I have ever known. Giv'em hell!!!

P.S. is Winder anywhere near Conyers? I am supposed to be headed do there some time this year and would love to buy you a beer.

Winder is about an hour from Conyers but I actually live in Loganville which is only a half hour away. A beer (or three) sounds GREAT right about now, you buy the first round and I will get the next one.

I am just kidding about my brother, (not about the ride part), he is actually an assistant manager at Enterprise in Covington and works very hard. He got hired January of last year and was promoted to assistant manager after ten months. He is VERY good at his job, just has that gift of gab with his customers.

Congrats on the move upward. Life is full of unusual changes -- some which we are not certain how they will turn out. Been there, and done that a few times.
