I’ve had 3 562’s, 2 ported, mostly run 28” bar, no bearing issues.
I run 562s with 28"s also. No bearing issues on them.
Friend of mine bought one for his "limber" to run, it has literally had zero maintenance and probably the world *s-wordtiest oil. He's been running it since 2014

I never had issues with bearings, but the hot start problems pissed me off enough in the summer that I sold them and use 572’s instead. Great saw 3 seasons out of the year though. I would be interested in a 562 again if they bored it out to ms400 displacement and implemented the 572 heat dissipation/reflection tech (the carb wall ect.).
I think the new ones have been updated to deal with heat? From videos I’ve seen the 562 and 400 have very similar cut times.

It seems like plenty of guys have had good luck with the saw. I think what this tells me is the bearing problem is not an engineering problem but a quality control one. Bad luck for me as we’re near the end of the season, replacement parts are back ordered like everything else, and my Stihl got lifted from our shop.

I've owned five 562xps . Four of the five were ported . I currently have three and I've never had any problems with bearings . Run a sharp chain and good oil .
I wonder how many 562's (other saws too) have bit the dust because of dull chains and heavy-handed operators.

I ran my 562xpg that Stump Shot ported for me this morning . The only thing that failed was the chain after I hit something . IMO the new 562s are great firewood saws .

Or chains with the rakers taken down way to far to compensate for poor filing skills. That kills your pto bearing from the chatter and vibration.
