Keep what you’ve got.Hi everyone. I have a STIHL HOS grinder that I’ve had for years. I’m a firewood guy about 5-10 cords of hardwood a year.
Would buying a new grinder like an Oregon 511(AX) be that much an upgrade or different for me?
I just received new wheels for the STIHL including a raker wheel which I’ve never done with a grinder before.
I know I don’t have an adjustable head tilt angle or the “down tilt” like most of the grinders today but I see a lot of you guys grinding at 55-60,25-35,0° anyway which is where mine is fixed at.
Sharpening 3/8” .050 and .325 green and yellow chains.
Thoughts?
Thanks.
Acme was another brand. there was another attachment for grinding circular knives and a step pulley system for slowing down the grinding wheel rpm.Max mfg, 1920 company that made all sorts of sharpening machinery. San Jose, Ca
