Beak is beak, hook is hook, both are fast. If you look at the new Stihl chain that is faster than square, it is a combination of hook/beak lovechild from hexa and super sharp C.
What's the new stihl chain?

It’s narrow kerf as well…
Thanks.
Depending on the saw/application I could like or dislike that. For brushing out tree jobs that can be nice as the chips are smaller for cleanup, but for bucking I'd want the larger kerf.

Anyone rig up some sort of light for the Stihl chain grinder? Why the hell don’t they have one in the first place?

Lighting existed, but was rather discontinued.

P/N of the whole 230 V kit: 5203 750 2700.

Not quite a chain grinder…but an important wear part…bars. Can get so much more use out of a bar if it’s taken care of.
Found this today, and couldn’t pass it up for the price….

Make sure to get that thing dead square! They can really screw up a bar if not.

“Does anyone know oregon 520 accept hydraulic system from 620? here is not us, no 620 or tecomec super jolly.”

Good question.

Lots of parts: vise assembly, cylinders, hoses, . . . Not sure about mounting the cylinder operated by the grinding head.

Easier to go the other way (remove the hydraulic cylinders and clamp manually).

I know that the hydraulic clamps are popular, but I have been happy with the manual clamp system. Simpler, with fewer things to go wrong.
