Does k & n make a saw filter ? Have to wash them instead of tap out the dust is More tome consuming, but max flow has to ne washed also.i ran them on the atv for years with an outerwearskin.

It actually needs that air flow to pull the fuel. So it actually runs leaner by pulling less fuel.
Ok now my brain hurts.
My brain hurts sometimes also thinking of how these things react but it does go richer with a plugged filter. Just like when you set the choke to start it to pull fuel.

So true about hd-2 filters looking clean, but being clogged!!!

Try to blow or suck thru a well used one compared to a new one, huge difference!!!

Found that out milling with an 088, barely scored the cylinder.

Went to a stack so I could use k&n or unifilter

And I went big!!!

I used to think hd-2 s were great, not anymore.

Oiled foam is the best and cheapest IMHO, k&n work fine , but are more expensive and take more time to dry after cleaning.

Still not sure if the outer-wears help much, on the hd-2, they seemed to trap fines inside the pre filter on that shape of a filter.

Really like a maxflow on the 661,

Agree on the ugly looking 064 kits, will probably just run the cage and element with no cover on the 064 for normal cutting.

Will try a K&N possibly as well. My biggest thing is fines past the filter.

Have outterwears on my HD2 filters as well, they seem go help a bit

Sent from my non internal combustion device.
