Blowing a hd2 out won't fix it,I've seen them that looked brand new and still be clogged.

The white hd2 knock off dave sells is a much better filter or like Kevin said run a maxflow.
I will literally use any other filter before a hd2.

Them guys in Australia have found that out also.

I've ruined a few filters using carb cleaner to clean them off. As they dry the filaments that make up the filter kind of melt together and a perfectly new looking filter won't allow you to even breathe through it. I don't recall this happening with the black hd one but the tan ones from a few other models and brands took a hit.

I ordered one of the 661 kits kev , id say the fit and finish is awesome.
It certainly is ............ Joseph went to great lengths to produce these kits, and I am very impressed with the results.

I can slice and dice a huge tree, cut the stump flush, (6 tanks of fuel) pull the cover and see no reason why I cant fuel it up again and cut some more. Ive gone 10 tanks and still seen a clean filter.

I wish he would re-do the 066/660 filter kits so that they fit and perform as well as the 661 kits do.

I read a few years ago on Masdens site under saw facts that a saw running wot for 5 minutes or something breathes more air than we do in a year....unrestricted filters are a must for performance.

I'll have to agree with J here. I'm not an hd2 fan at all, with or without the outerwear pre filter.

I mostly run max flo on saws that I can. Or a velocity stack, then your filter options are endless

I remember i kept having to turn the h screw in about 1/8th of a turn every month or so on my 395 and never thought much of other than whats gonna happen when its all the way in , anyway it eventually happened so i rebuilt the carb and it was still the same , replaced the welch plugs in the carb thinking fuel was getting past but still the same , tried a carb of my older 395 and no difference , then after pressure testing and replacing anything that moved with no luck i noticed the top of the air filter kinda sucked down so i replaced the perfectely good looking filter with a new one and problem solved ...
Man i felt like a dick

Ive given them a go just about every way i know how , i settled on the 2 maxflow plates with no cover and an outerwear as the best way i can run the hd2 ... and im still not crazy about them...but thats bein kinda picky.

Idk who can argue the benefit of a maxflow ?

Me too , the other kits seem kinda cheap compared to the 661 set up , but they still work so its all good.
