Any power equipment i repair. i tell the customer if they dont use it often, to run canned fuel. Most of em take the advice. I myself was using 100ll from the local airport untill they removed the pump. It was mentioned before, as crazy as things are in the world right now, it wouldnt be a terrible idea to have a few sealed cans stored away and rotate them out.

FYI this canned Sunoco stuff is only $7.93 per fake gallon at Rural King now. Too good of a deal to pass up. I reuse the cans to store premix when they are empty.

Does anyone know what oil Sunoco uses in the 40:1 premix?

I was going to do the exact same thing...I had no intention of getting the premix but that is all my store had in the bigger size.

Good deal! Checked locally at that place where ‘You Save BIG Money’:

Still cheaper than the Tru-Fuel on the next shelf. Maybe competition is having an effect?

Reaalllllllly Stupid question - Never considered "specialty" fuels to be a viable options in some cases - ive burned more C16 than i care to admit while i was a race mech. My question is this, im assuming its ok to mix maxima K2 in the sunoco "4-cycle" fuel at 32:1 with no issues??? Would definitely prefer this over pump gas.

Found this bit of info (see pic). Sunoco says it is fine for mixing.

Should be able to mix K2 with the canned fuel no problem.

Mix away, then YOU decide what oil & at what ratio. Great little cans for when you just need to take an extra tank or two with you for a job.

Was near the closest RK so I stopped in, had the Sunoco for just under $10 a fake gallon, so I picked up 10 of them, that will last me a good while for mix fuel. $10 is still pricy but half the cost of true-fuel. The octane is a bit too high for use in saws, but no deal breaker.

How does this stuff seem to run?

I looked into the the pre mixed fuel they offer and couldn't find any direct info on the oil they use. However Sunoco does offer a asheless TCW3 Blue/Green in color oil. The oil is actually recommend in outboard engines and chainsaws. Generally no TCW3 oil should be used in air cooled engines, though some have had success with a few TCW3 oils, Schaefer's to be specific. I personally would stick with the straight fuel and mix in the oil of my choice, just in case they actually use that oil, which on paper doesn't have the proper formula for use in air cooled engines. It may work perfectly fine, but it's definitely an unknown.

I've seen many mixed opinions of the TCW3 oil. I think in higher concentrations it is probably fine, but at 50:1 it will probably have heat issues.

I used quicksilver semi synthetic 2 stroke outboard oil for over 15 years with no issue, until I joined this site....
I was using Penzoil synthetic before joining this site as well! Now I'm on Maxima, but just saw that a sponsor on the Forestry Forum is offering a fully synthetic environmentally safe/friendly 2t oil that I will pick up once they start offering it in gallon jugs.

Is there enough room in the fake gallon cans to add enough oil to make 40:1 or do I need to mix it in a real gallon can?
